About Me

My passion for helping others started when I was a middle schooler helping children with emotional and physical challenges. My parents purchased a sign for my door from the old Peanuts comic strip saying "Psychiatrist 5 cents".

My first career was in Corporate America in Human Resources, then as a stay at home mother to two children and finally a Private Practice Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. I feel like my experiences help me to empathize with my clients in many domains.

I received specialized training as Registered Play Therapist Supervisor in order to help children ages 3-17 on their own developmental level. I am Certified in EMDR therapy which helpful to replace disturbing thoughts and feelings with more positive and proactive thoughts and feelings. EMDR was originally designed to heal trauma, but is now also used to help in many different settings with children and adults.

I am married, with two adult children. In my spare time, i enjoy travel, book club, and am learning to scuba dive. I enjoy volunteering my time helping to develop a Play Therapy program for child victims of trauma, working with Kids' Meals, and helping at the Christian Community Center (CCSC).

I am grateful to be a therapist and I look forward to meeting you. My hope is that you will feel more hopeful, heal and find in me a kind and helping hand in your journey.
