Ms. Limbrick is a former Fort Bend ISD teacher of 13 years. Her years teaching have helped her transition into the field of professional school counseling. As a former elementary school counselor she focused on students’ emotional, behavioral, and social well-being.
Ms. Limbrick is pursuing her Registered Play Therapy credential. She has experience providing children with Child Centered Play Therapy, Cognitive Play Therapy, and small focus groups. Ms. Limbrick helps children explore anger management, healthy friendship, bullying, and other behavioral issues.
She believes in creating a genuine relationship with her clients to help children gain a more adequate acceptance of themselves. This approach builds the child's self-awareness and self-actualization. From her many years teaching and counseling children, she has developed the conviction that children are resilient, unique, worthy of respect, and capable of positive self-direction. Ms. Limbrick is skilled at working with children within their cultural background.
In addition to her skills with children, Ms. Limbrick has a passion for helping parents build a healthier child-parent relationship. She is a parent of three teenage boys. Through her personal parenting experiences, research on child-parent relationships, and working with students’ parents she has discovered that parents are the primary agent of change in their child’s life. Following this philosophy, she will guide her clients in parenting with a mind and heart approach.
