Ms. Limbrick is a former Fort Bend ISD teacher of 13 years. Her years teaching have helped her transition into the field of professional school counseling. As an elementary school counselor she makes it her priority to provide a guidance counseling program that focuses on students’ emotional, behavioral, and social well-being. She has accomplished this by providing the children at her school with Child Centered Play Therapy, Cognitive Play Therapy, and small focus groups. Through the small groups, Ms. Limbrick helps children explore anger management, healthy friendship, bullying, and other social emotional learning topics.
She believes in creating a genuine relationship with her clients to help the children gain a more adequate acceptance of themselves. This approach builds the child's self-awareness and self-actualization. From her many years teaching and counseling children, she has developed the conviction that children are resilient, unique, worthy of respect, and capable of positive self-direction. Ms. Limbrick is skilled at working with children within their cultural background.
In addition to her skills with children, Ms. Limbrick has a passion for helping parents build a healthier child-parent relationship. She is a parent of three teenage boys. Through her personal parenting experiences, research on child-parent relationships, and working with students’ parents she has discovered that parents are the primary agent of change in their child’s life. Following this philosophy, she will guide her clients in parenting with a mind and heart approach.
